Description:

The most powerful USB solar charger that you will find in its class
Use the sCharger-5 to charge iPhone(3, 4 and 4S), Android phones and other electronic gadgets including GPSs, eReaders, AA and other USB batteries. It even charges the iPad in good sunny weather. This is the only USB solar charger on the market that can fully charge multiple devices throughout the day. After one device is charged, plug another in.

High Quality and Dependable
The sCharger-5 uses the highest quality parts for ruggeness and long life. The sCharger-5 only uses the highest efficiency, high power, solar cells like the ones used in industrial grade solar systems. The solar cells in the sCharger-5 charger really pack a punch!

Compare
See if any other small solar charger can match the same solar energy output in such a small package. Other solar chargers use a small solar panel to trickle charge an internal battery, which takes forever! Their solar panels are too weak charge your device directly. So they charge your device from an internal battery instead. When the internal battery fails(which it inevitably will, since it's being baked in the sun constantly), you have to throw the whole thing away. Our sCharger-5 solar charger will not only charge your device, it will run it directly from the sun.

Uses
Use the sCharger-5 while camping, picniking, at the beach, by the pool, or even ball games. Use it to solar charge your devices when there is no other power available. Take it hiking with you to quick charge that iPhone that is running GPS. Use it for emergency power and disaster relief. Most of the time cell phones still work when there is no electricity. Be the only one with a fully charged phone!

Features:
  • Charges direct from the sun to your device at wall-rates. Charge, talk and surf at the same time

5PC-5 Goodness  May 05, 2011
By anfitris
I found this product Online, spoke to the owner of the company and immediately ordered mine! The PC-5 is worth every penny and then some! I am a hugh solar advocate and have many other solar chargers in my arsenal. Because of the speed at which this charges from the sun, I now use it to charge other solar chargers because they see the PC-5 more as a USB wall charger than a solar charger. This means these other chargers will be ready for use faster than they charging themselves! That is amazing!! I have used it to charge my phones, iPods, and even my iPad. As time marches on, I am sure that more applications will present themselves. I will conduct a race between the PC-5 and Voltaicsystem's Amp Solar Charger to see which one charges my Solio hybrid Solar Chargers faster just out of curiosity. I love both the PC-5 and the Amp Solar Charger and have already strongly recommended them to friends and family!

5Amazing product/ Worked on the Airplane for new Ipod Nano  Mar 30, 2011
By Laura Gilmour
I bought this product on Amazon. I tested it for the first time on my flight to Las Vegas 3/14/2011. It charged my entire ipod Nano from the airplane window in about 2 hours. My Nano is the lastest model, and had no problem recognizing the charger. The green indicator light on the charger shows the panels are charging immediately. It worked really well to have the pannels open and right up against the window, I then realized I could close the airplane window shade half way which kept it in place hands free, worked perfectly. Another great thing about this charger is the size and weight, it's the size of a traditional CD case, and when you open it it's the size of an open CD case. The product is pretty amazing, it feels really amazing to have that type of power without batteries. It's basically a one time investiment that will pay for itself in battery use and power use. I'm really impressed and will be using this for my honeymoon to Greece in June.

5Charges iPod  Jul 18, 2011
By nobreakspace
Charges an iPod in full sunlight no problem using the iPod's USB adapter. It's compact, solid, made in USA. Very nice for the current technology. It's seemed a little pricey at first, but I'm happy I have it -- I can't very well carry around my 12" x 15" solar panel in a backpack or the car. It fits comfortably into a Case Logic BNW-48 Polyester CD/DVD Wallet, which gives an exact amount of leftover space for an iPod, earbuds, USB adapter, and some slim extras (note: I removed the cd-pockets using an exacto knife).

5Great Solar Pannel  Aug 25, 2011
By AstroSeeker "SkyWalker"
UPDATE:
I had this panel pressed against a window on a summer day at noon and it does not charge my kindle ereader at all.
This means, it only produce enough power to charge in direct sun light. This is a bit disapointing!
Also when I plugged this panel into my Sansa MP3 player, I got a message "low battery, system shut down" and
I have to remove the battery and reintall it to reboot my MP3 player.
This solar pannel does not come with a storage battery; so when not in direct sun light, it may not work when you connect to your
device.

---------------------PREVIOUS UPDATE------------------------------------------------------------
I love this Solar Pannel! At first glance, it looked rather home made. Like something that came out
of a university electronic lab. But don't let that fool you. It works very well. It can charge any 5V
usb devices - only small devices. But just like any solar product, you need to use common sense. Don't
leave your devices out in the hot summer sun for too long without any shading. Also just to be safe I would
apply this to the solar pannel itself too. I know it is designed to work in the sun but any thing that
sit in the hot sun long enough without any cooling eventually may run into problems like melting....I
mean where would the heat go right?

I especialy love the fact that if you have some small usb AA/AAA battery charger you can charge it with
this pannel too. I have the Ultralast GREEN usb AA/AAA battery charger and it works perfect.

Update:
I just want to clarify that I was simply being a little too cautious when I warned about leaving the pannel
out in the hot sun too long. I realy did not think it would melt but I was just playing safe.
Infact if you read the comment, Dean Sala from Suntactic has assure me that this would not be problematic
and they has tested to a temp. of 170 degree F. This has increase my confidence!

5Simple, Tough, Rugged little Solar Charger  Jan 21, 2012
By Cal 20 Sailor
This seems to be a very rugged, simple and efficient little solar charger. It doesn't include a built-in battery--just a regular USB port, an LED that glows when it's producing power, and a printed circuit to regulate the voltage output. The PV panels are not the flexible thin film type that are fairly common in other brands of "backpacker-type" chargers, but the presumably more powerful and efficient rigid wafer-type you might see in residential or commercial applications, or on sailboats or RVs. These wafers are bonded to stiff plastic or fiberglass panels sandwiched in a tough plastic sheet on both sides, which appears to make the whole works pretty much waterproof, with the possible exception of the printed circuit part, although the included brief documentation implies that water will not damage the circuitry--it just tells you to remove the water from the circuitry and dry it out.

I put mine in a small drawstring velour cloth bag, along with a small two cell USB AA/AAA battery charger I picked up at WalMart and a selection of USB cables, and threw it in my daypack. Now I'm ready to charge any of my small daily electronic toys, from GPS units to digital cameras to smartphones or MP3 players to MiFi units and mini-tablets like my Samsung Galaxy Player 5.0--basically any small electronic device that charges via regular/mini/micro USB cable. It seems like it would be much more durable than the kind of solar chargers that roll up for storage and transport, and actually weighs less for similar voltage output. It's a bit pricey, and I haven't done a close comparison or analysis of weight/output/durability to cost, but I do feel good about the purchase. Feel like I'm ready for Armageddon, now...or at least a power outtage.
