Nice Combo Dec 26, 2009
By M. Allred

The Huntsman 2 pocketknife is a very handy tool. The knives are sharp and just the right size for light duty tasks. The saw is a little thinner that I expected, but I have no reason to doubt it's durability. The little scissors are amazing and I will probably wind up using them the most.
The handle material is new. It looks like a nylon-filled plastic, and is non reflective and easier to grip. I think it's slightly more practical than the other handle type for actual use...but it doesn't look as pretty and feels slightly cheaper.
The flashlight is nice as well. Extremely bright and focused light. The handle is nicely textured, and it just looks well designed.
Overall I would actually give this 4 1/2 stars.

Rated Poor for the Flashlight Feb 09, 2011

First the good stuff. The pocket knife is everything you want from a Swiss Army knife. It has everything there (see description) and is more than found its use in my house. I keep mine in my fishing tackle box as a handy knife. It does everything I ask it to do. It isn't too small nor too big for all the accessories it has. Perfect 5 of 5 stars.
But now why I rated it three stars:
The flashlight is terrible. I bought this combo and when I first received the product and inserted the batteries (not included but brand new), the flashlight overheated and started smoking. Now, I will count that as just a bad unit out of thousands of others. So working with Amazon, I got a replacement sentout immediately. Thanks Amazon for being great.
The second light that I recieved worked great. It gives off a fair amount of light and it nice and lightweight. It looks and feels good too. However, I've owned it now for about 6 months now and when I went to use it the other day it didn't work. Open up the battery compartment and found some corrosion. I swapped out the batteries with new ones and it still didn't work.
Now I've owned Maglite branded flashlights for a very long time and never had an issue. I need my flashlights to work every time and when this one let me down twice, well I'd rather toss it and get another brand.
But I am not going to say anything bad about the knife. Buy the knife seperately and you'll be in love with it. Can't say the same with the flashlight.
Note, I use the same brand of battery in other electronics like my ditigal camera and never have issues with the battery. So it's needless to say that I trust my brand of battery.

Classic Swiss knife Dec 13, 2009

This knife has everything I need, and the flashlight is bright enough and easy to hold. The only downside is the flashlight doesn't have a on/off button.

A good set if you need both. Jan 31, 2010
By SandiskFan I purchased this set at $ 26.89 and at the moment it's listed for $ 69.99. The former price was a steal, the latter isn't really worth it. The Huntsman II alone is $ 23.99; the flashlight is not worth $50. It would be much cheaper to get them separately.
Victorinox Swiss Army Huntsman II Knife
The knife itself it great. The scales are not the typical shiny Victorinox red. These are a different material that is less reflective and seems to give a better grip when wet. If you want the classic scales, Amazon has those too.
Victorinox Swiss Army Huntsman Pocket Knife
I find the amount of tools to be the right balance between weight, thickness, and utility. Besides their expected functions, I've found great uses for some of them. The saw is great for shaping thick cardboard. Corkscrew is great for picking knots in string. The hook is great for lifting pots off the campfire. I'll never put the toothpick in my mouth, but it is good for cleaning the knife itself.
If you don't want the scissors or saw, check out the Climber or Camper models. If you wanted a Phillips head screwdriver, find a Fieldmaster. If you need more tools, the Ranger, Craftsman, or Handyman are worth looking into.
The light is fantastic. The threads are smooth, the LED is bright, and the handle has a great textured grip. It comes with batteries and a lanyard.
If you're thinking of ordering this set, check the prices of each item. You may save money buying them separately.

Pretty Good Feb 10, 2010

It is very useful suit, it helps a lots during outing as well as at home.
Can you believe I just use this knife to assemble my desk up, which I bought from Wal-mart, having 7 packages different type of screws.
Whenever you need some lights to find something in darkness, the Flashlight is always brighter than your expectation; it saved me when I took it and found my wife's wedding ring under the bed. plus, it feels perfect and steady when you hold it.
