The best mix of tools Jul 02, 2003

This one has the perfect set of tools, in my opinion. The scissors, most people will want. The Victorinox saw is outstanding. Be careful, as it will make quick work of your fingers; it is very sharp and cuts aggressively. It is also good that the can opener and bottle opener are separate tools. The Victorinox can opener works wonderfully, but the combo tool which is a can and bottle opener rolled into one doesn't work well on cans. Also, the can opener has a handy little screwdriver tip which can be used as a Philips screwdriver sometimes. The reamer is a lot more handy than you would think, though not as a reamer. I use it to change watch bandes, as the sharp tip reaches in and releases the spring bars without too much fuss. The most used tool for me though is the large screwdriver tip on the bottle opener. The one disadvantage with this one is that it is starting to get a bit thick to carry in your pocket. A belt sheath would be more appropriate, if you can pull that off without feeling too geeky. (Personally, I don't care, hehehe)

Outstanding knife! May 10, 2006

I looked at many different variations of Swiss Army Knife before I decided on this one. I couldn't be happier! This has an excellent variety of tools for everyday jobs (the screwdriver heads, the small blade, the scissors), and it's great for outdoor use at picnics, camping, or canoeing (the saw blade, the large knife, the toothpick). There are still a few tools I haven't used, but overall, this is one of the best mixes of tools for the money.

Victorinox Has the Best Blades Apr 27, 2006

I own three Victorinox knives. The blades on all of them are of the highest quality. I also own a Wenger executive Swiss Army knife. But if you are debating the difference between Wenger and this knife, the Victorinox is noticably superior for quality and construction.
As the other reviewer has commented this does have the best mix of tools. But unless you have a sheath on your belt it is unlikely you will be carrying this around with you. It is just too bulky. Highly useful as a knife to have in the kitchen drawer or glove box of your car. The plastic handle material will wear and possibly crack over time, but if you are not a tradesman it would take a long time for that to happen.
I will definitely purchase this knife for my nephew, who is interested in camping and hiking. A handy item to keep in the house so you don't have to drag out the toolbox every time something needs tightening or cutting. This is one tool I think everybody should have in the house or car, you will be suprized at how many times you will use it!

I don't know what kind of piddly little sissy knife you've been wasting your time with in the past, but you just need to throw 'em all into the abyss and get a real VICTORINOX FIELDMASTER! The VICTORINOX FIELDMASTER will change your life and make you a better person. I can tell you're skeptical, but believe you me, the moment I put this knife in my pocket, I knew everything was going to be all turnips and gopher kisses. This knife will make you feel stronger, more confident, smarter, better looking, and it might just give you that extra edge on the croquet field. Why, all the ladies seem to know I've got a VICTORINOX FIELDMASTER in the pocket of my bike shorts. I'll bet it's that extra boost of confidence and self assurance that oozes from my very pores like bacon drippings from bacon in a pan that's really hot on a stove in the kitchen of a man that carries a VICTORINOX FIELDMASTER. If I ever get stabbed, I hope it's with a VICTORINOX FIELDMASTER. If it is, I'll just look at the doctor and say: "Doc, leave it right where it is! That just happens to be a VICTORINOX FIELDMASTER!" and the doctor will agree that leaving it in my spurting artery will eventually work in my favor. Don't let another moment pass by without giving yourself the greatest Christmas gift of all: GOD-LIKE OMNIPOTENCE!! Remember: there's only 2 ways acquire GOD-LIKE OMNIPOTENCE: being God and carrying a VICTORINOX FIELDMASTER. It doesn't make you God or even A god. But, it does make you GOD-LIKE! If Jesus carried a knife, it would have been a VICTORINOX FIELDMASTER. I can see it now. Jesus standing there using his VICTORINOX FIELDMASTER to prepare fish sandwiches for all those hungry people. The more I think about it, when Jesus was born, they had to cut the cord with something. I'll just put my money on it being a VICTORINOX FIELDMASTER. Since we are now sure that Jesus carried a VICTORINOX FIELDMASTER, that makes MACGYVER a saint, or a disciple, or maybe an apostle. At the very least he would be a deacon. Anyway, don't be fooled by imitations and get yourself a VICTORINOX FIELDMASTER at once, young lady!

i just bought this knive and iam very pleased i bought itbecause of the tool it has like the screw driver instead of cork screw and stuff like that not to big not too small just right!...
