Good for parties! Jan 16, 2009
By David Kasman We bought two of these so that we could put out coffee and tea at our holiday party. The idea was to fill them and put them out just as our guests were arriving so that we would be free to interact with, and enjoy, our company. The good news is that these containers are attractive and they keep the drinks hot for many hours. It's pretty amazing! One thing I don't like about them is that it is not that obvious (there's a conspicuous silver button just above the spout, but that's not the one ... sure fooled a few of our guests though) what to press to pump the drinks out. I had to help a few confused guests. The other minor problem is that the unit is designed to swivel on its base ... and swivel it does! I wish there was a way to lock the base so it would not tend to swivel when operating the pump.
Overall though, they are very well made, easy to clean and they really work.
If you plan to buy one for coffee and one for other drinks, I suggest that you discreetly mark the coffee one and always use it for the coffee. That way, your other drinks won't get a coffee flavor.

Thermos Nissan Jan 16, 2010
By Techster I do a fair amount of long-distance traveling. When I do, I always take a pump-pot of coffee with me. Until now, I've always had a problem with the pot tipping over. When that happens, I usually have to stop at the next rest stop or exit and sponge up the coffee that had soaked into the carpet. That didn't happen every trip, but often enough to be aggrevating.
I spent some time looking for a shorter pump-pot with a larger base thinking that a lower center of gravity would help minimize the risk of the thing tipping over. The Nissan by Thermos was the only one I found that really fit the bill. For an 85 ounce container, it is shorter and bigger around than any other I could find. Durability was a concern of mine as well and this one is completely stainless steel, inside and out. My only concern about ordering it online was that the dimensions provided in the product description seemed to include the packaging and not the thermos itself. However, I thought the price was fair and figured that it would be a good deal if it could solve my problem, so I ordered one through Amazon.
After I received it and unpacked it, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the top is completely removable as well as all the insides (if you want to) making it very easy to clean. If you're looking for a short, fat pump-pot that is resistant to tipping over, I'd highly recommend this one.

Love it! Feb 26, 2010

After reading endless reviews on thermal pots, I settled on this one and I wasn't disappointed. I fill with hot tap water while the water is boiling, to warm the pot. It stays hot for about 8 hrs. There's a button on the front that seems like you should push to get the liquid out, but it's actually to open the lid. I guess I was looking for something more tricky than the obvious, LARGE, hand sized, round button on top! [silly grin] Oh well, once I figured that out, the pot was a dream! It has a nice sturdy handle for carrying and swivels around on the base to pour from different locations, so if you had it in the middle of a table you could spin it around, we'll say 90° to pour a cup for someone next you. I only use it for hot water, but it would be great to take hot cocoa to football game or other event. It's easy to clean. Actually there wasn't anything that I didn't like about it!

By J-Fam We are really enjoying this pump pot. I bought 2 of them to use for different parties we've hosted and they have been wonderful. Drinks are still hot 24 hours later.

GREAT SS PUMP POT Feb 19, 2010
By Margaret Bailey Bought this to replace an older style Thermos brand pump pot which has a glass liner. The liner was okay, but the pump, bellows, had an air leak forcing one to pump like crazy to get contents out.
This baby is great! One pump and out comes 6-8 ounces of ????
The squat size is nice for travel and under counter. Cleans easy.
Buy it. You won't regret it.
