2Not much heat  Jan 23, 2010
By R. K. Nichols "Quenchcrack"
This item stesses it is safe to use and I guess it is. I tried to boil 2 cups of water with it indoors and it never got hot enough to actually boil it. While it is safe, it does not put out much heat. However, the nifty stove attachement also fits a 7 oz sterno can which will get hot enough to boil water. The Magic Heat might make a safe emergency car heater for winter hazards, though. Regretably, the second one I bought was defective and the stove would not stay on top of the can so it goes back to the store. I will get a replacement, though, as these units do have some use.

4hot enough to boil water  Jan 11, 2011

I disagree with the last review. I filled a canteen cup with about two cups of cold water, covered it with foil, and put it on the magic heat stove. It took about a half hour, but I got a rolling boil. Not the fastest stove, but certainly useful for the price.
