1600rpm vs. 3200rpm. Apr 29, 2010
By Louie Lefkowitz

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R3IGYBBPK1MGX9 This spin dryer does perform some drying for clothes that come out of a regular washer with the spin cycle, but not as much as I liked. I felt that this would help some in making their decision. On the other hand, I'd like to praise The Laundry-Alternative's more expensive spin dryer Centrifugal Clothes Portable Spin Dryer which extracts A LOT OF water while the spinner spins twice as fast at 3200 instead of 1600rpm (maybe 6 ounces for 3 minutes, while the smaller machine may remove about an ounce for the same amount of clothes). Personally, I was looking for a review of someone who used a regular washer and spin dried their clothes with this, but there weren't any reviews. My review may get a lot of negative feedback, but will save a couple of people money, and that's why I write reviews in the first place. Also, you may find that the prices may be less buying directly through The Laundry-Alternative. Hope this helps someone.
3 stars for my purpose and 5 stars for people who own a Wonderwasher gives a fair average of 4 stars. Please let me know if this was a helpful review.

Fantastic! Efficient; extremely quiet! Aug 17, 2009
By J. Morrier I love this spinner! It's very well made, and works beautifully. It doesn't hold a lot--I had one full size bath towel in it, that filled it. But it only took 2 minutes, and the towel started out soaking wet. It wrung it beautifully. If the clothes are not quite balanced, it thumps around. But if you move the clothes a little bit, it smooths right out, and you can hardly tell it's running. I am very impressed.

Beats Wringing Sep 17, 2009

This spin drier gets out a unbelievable amount of water. Does not distort the shape of things like hand wringing does. It reduces the drying time substantially. I often just air dry my laundry after they come out of this little titan. No dripping, No mess.
Paired with the Wonder Washer it is perfect for my RV lifestyle.
Would also be great for dorm rooms and apartments.

Good Buy Mar 19, 2010
By TP Reitzel I bought this spin dryer to accompany the Wonder Washer. Both products are about the same quality, i.e. good, if a user cares for the equipment.
Basically, the spin dryer works as advertised, i.e. it drains water from saturated clothes. When starting, the machine vibrates strongly * so place the spin dryer on a towel to keep it from moving. Once in motion, the spin dryer still vibrates, but not strongly. Most of the water is squeezed from the clothes quite rapidly leaving the clothes merely damp in just minutes. Simply hang the damp clothes for a couple of hours before wearing.
When the dryer stops spinning, tip the dryer and dump the water in the pan below the tub out the drain hose, because significant amounts of water remain in the dryer. Also, store the dryer with the lid open, but lightly cover the opening with some plastic to keep out dust while the water in the tub evaporates completely.
Lastly, my spin dryer was previously used as scratches are apparent on the top cover and some light greasy marks visible on the bottom of the tub. Apparently, some previous user tried to run the spin dryer for the first time without removing the shipping bolts on the bottom of the dryer and thereby fried the motor. Unfortunately, I got a refurbished machine, but it still works well. However, buyer beware. My spin dryer was shipped by the Laundry Alternative. Regardless, I would recommend this spin dryer as it really complements the Wonder Washer well even to the point of having similar color schemes. ;)
If I hadn't received a refurbished machine, I would have rated this product 4 out of 5.
* P.S. With more experience, I've found that vibration at start-up can be minimized by adding another piece of clothes. The lighter the load, the greater the tendency to vibrate strongly at start-up.

It's grrreat Nov 03, 2009
By Kathy S After 3 years my spinner stopped working. Apparently it had a design flaw. It worked so well and I really miss the thing. I have a tip for other users; set the spinner on a towel or a rubber mat to ensure that it does not move off the counter or table top. But the spinner didn't travel during the spinning, it travelled when the spinning was done and the load was unbalanced. After each use, store a day with the lid open to allow the moisture and water to dry out. By the way, the manufacturer said (a few months ago) "We are coming out with an improved, high-tech model very soon for the same price (it is self-balancing which no other spin dryers in the world can do)."
