Unlike traditional NiMH batteries, IMEDION rechargeable batteries can be stored for an extended period of time without substantial loss of power and are ready to use out-of-package. As the name suggests, the IMEDION batteries will be "ready when you are!" A common problem that plagues rechargeable batteries is that they need to be recharged about once every one to three months even if they are not used. Maha tackled this issue by developing advanced electrode materials to reduce the rate of power loss during storage. As a result, IMEDION batteries retain up to 85% of its charge even after one year of storage (at a room temperature of 20 deg C). IMEDION batteries differ from the competition by boasting a longer lifetime as well as increased power retention under warmer environments. IMEDION batteries can be recharged for hundreds of times and perform extraordinarily well at elevated temperatures. In addition, IMEDION batteries feature a low-impedance design and can deliver a high burst of current. The IMEDION batteries are fully compatible with all Powerex chargers and are available in 2400mAh capacity for AA.

I purchased this product several months back and wanted to see how well it really worked before writing a review. I have used other similar chargers and have always been disappointed. Either the battery power didn't seem to last very long after being charged or the charger overheated and damaged the batteries. Not so this time. This device works awesomely. It can take a little while--maybe a few hours--to recharge some batteries, but I decided this was ok because I've read that the really fast chargers have a tendency to "cook" batteries. This model requires charging identical batteries in pairs, although you can run two different pairs simultaneously. I believe Maha makes another model that will charge individual batteries, but I liked the specs (and the cost) of this one better. So far it's been a champion--it almost makes up for the money I wasted on other brands.

the maha is muaaaah. i've bought more expensive chargers, but i really haven't used them any different than just plugging in the batteries and come back later to find them charged. This does the trick.
