As with all Lodge products this cover works as it should. It keeps whatever you are cooking moist and allows a very low heat setting. It would be five stars if it did not cost almost twice the price of the skillet it is used with.

It works great and meats are very moist. When one buys this you have to think long term. Cast iron can easily be handed down to the next generation if taken care of, making this well worth the purchase price! Besides it sucks trying to use tinfoil on a pan this size when you don't have the lid.

I had this huge skillet, found at a yard sale. Never used, excellent price, no lid. Looked around a long time and found one right here! Fits the cast iron skillet perfectly. Love cast iron cooking, sure it's heavy but it's hard to beat the quality of your cooking when you use this stuff. Besides, once it's seasoned (most come preseasoned now) it's darn near as easy to clean up as non stick, seriously. Thank you Amazon!
