Great for charcoal stove top too ! Sep 03, 2010 This is an excellent value set ! If you have limited space, buy this set cos' you will be able to stack them up (skillet / cover can be flip right side up and stack over the pot too. The lid seals the pot very well. I have three Le Cresuet iron cast dutch ovens - but this one beats it with the creative use of lid and pot. I use it with my Cobbs BBQ - it fits well and grill well. I have also used on the glass stove top and oven and it works well. It came seasoned but I cooked bacon during the first use and it remains non-stick. The pot, though not too big, is enough for 3-4 person. It is quite heavy due to the longer handle (vs short handle). Make sure you get a mitten.

Really good small dutch oven Jul 10, 2010 This combo has both a deep cooker and a fry pan. That's when you separate the parts.
The Good:
3 n one, dutch oven, deep cooker (deep fryer), and a fry pan.
Fits in a camp oven/stove like Camp Chef Camping Outdoor Oven with 2 Burner Camping Stove although the top burners would be a bit problematic with the dutch oven configuration.
You can use either half by itself.
The deep cooker is deep enough to make a good (small) deep fryer.
Nice flat top so easy to use as a dutch oven over a fire.
Auxiliary helper handles are great when this is full of food (or even when its not).
Great value.
The bad:
Heavy, well no big surprise there.
Handles get real hot so you need oven mitts or fire gloves again not a big.
The Ugly:
A standard 10 1/2' lid fits the deep portion and the skillet but the skillet doesn't lock in.
Really need the helper handles.
You need to fill the pots with water and boil it then wipe them with oil and heat them. The pre-seasoned just cuts the seasoning process it does not eliminate it.
Overall an excellent value although Griswold and Wagner Cast Iron Cookbook: Delicious and Simple Comfort Food has an ad (no date)that gives the price for a similar set as $1.29 on sale. That's apparently early in the last century. The Lodge Logic 10-1/4-Inch Cast-Iron Lid is nice to have addition when using either piece by itself.
Safety warning! If you are using a cloth, handle holder or oven mitt and it is wet; DON'T DO That. You will get severe steam burns on your hands. (If you are stupid enough to pick up cast iron without protecting our hands you deserve what you get.)
BTW if you want cool handles the Signature series from lodge has stainless handles that are nice and long. They just don't fit camp stoves/ovens well and cost 5x to 10x as much.
Iron pan lover Jun 24, 2010 These pans are very versitile. I love the way they were designed to be used separatly or together, one as a lid for the other. They have a good weight (thickness) and were cast well (no sizable pits)this will ensure a long lasting pan that heats evenly with no sticking because it holds seasoning well. The only thing I wish was included in the description is what it is preseasoned with animal fat or vegetable oil.
Lodge Logic - The BEST! Jun 06, 2010 Lodge Logic Cast Iron is made in the USA so that is why we purchased our first piece. From then on we were hooked! It is heavy, well seasoned & even comes clean if you do manage to burn stuff in it. Yes I've done that a couple times :) This two piece is handy for home & the campfire. You can use them together for a nice stew or cake OR separately for eggs & another hot dish. LOVE IT!

2 pans in one May 22, 2010 This is really 2 pans in one, a skillet and a fryer, that together make up a pretty great dutch-oven. Personally, I use it to make things like chili when I can keep frying/browning the meat in the skillet as I bring together all the ingredients in the deeper pan, then it all goes into the oven.
If you haven't tried cast-iron yet, get yourself the 10 1/2 inch skillet - best pan I've ever bought; but once you do, you'll be back for this quickly.
Also, the skillet here is great for pancakes with low sides.
Once seasoned nothing sticks to these pans, quite amazing to use. I have a whole range of 'nonstick' pans that everything sticks to, but these simple old-fashioned beauties work just great.
