These work.
If you camp out, hike or taking a long car journey the GobSpark FireSteel are cheap insurance for your fire lighting emergencies (or replace your soggy matches and limited use lighter).
To test it out, I stuck it under water, sparks flew after the first firm strike.
It works every time.
Delivery was super fast and packaging was secure.
Buy 2 or 3.

I bought 5 different fire starter kits to test out with my son. This starter was one of the two best. The long flint made it easy to generate lots of sparks.

This is not quite as large as the full size Gobspark Firesteel and is a bit easier to carry in pack or pocket.When you need it ,it is fully up to the task of produceing great spark for fire starting. It is a bit harder to hold (for me) than the full size Gobspark Firesteel,though it produces about the same results when the Super Scraper is applied.You just can't go wrong with these ,get several for you and for your friends and practice the ART of fire makeing.

I have been using these FIRESTEELS from Ron @ Firesteel.com for some time now.
These are the best I have found.
They work no matter what weather conditions are, Everytime !!!!!
I highly recomend these to anyone who spends time outdoors.

Ron's customer service is outstanding, If you ever have a problem, Or a question.

What more can you ask for? Small, simple, effective. That's about all you need for a great fire starting tool for all situations, not just emergency. Throws large quantity of sparks with very little effort.
