Description:

The Fenix LD20 LED flashlight is digitally regulated and digitally controlled. It has two output modes which produce a total of six levels of output. These modes not only allow the user to select the best compromise between brightness and runtime for any given task, but they also help to aid in an emergency. The LD20 does all this and still retains a very compact size and uses a commonly found AA battery. If you're looking for solid reliability, digitally-regulated brightness, and compact size, this Fenix is for you. • Cree Premium (Q5) 7090 XR-E LED with lifespan of 50,000 hours • 2 modes (6 types) of output • General Mode: 9 lumens (71hrs) -> 47 lumens (13hrs) -> 94 lumens (5hrs) ->SOS • Turbo Mode: 180 lumens (2hrs) -> Strobe • Digitally regulated output-maintains constant brightness • Uses two 1.5V AA (Alkaline, Ni-MH, Lithium ) batteries, inexpensive and widely available • 150mm (Length) x 21.5mm (Diameter) • Made of T6 aircraft-grade aluminum • Durable Type III hard-anodized anti-abrasive finish • 56-gram weight (excluding batteries) • Waterproof to IPX-8 Standard • Toughened ultra-clear glass lens with anti-reflective coating • Push-button tail cap switch • Capable of standing up securely on a flat surface to serve as a candle • Included accessories: holster, lanyard, two spare o-rings, and a rubber switch boot Dimension: 6.26 in(L) x 0.827 in(D) or 159 mm(L) x 21 mm(D) Weight: 1.958 oz or 55.5 g

Features:
  • It is 6-inches in length and weighs 3-ounces

  • Will reach over 140-meters using just two 1.5-volt AA batteries

  • Body design is made of durable aircraft-grade aluminum

5Might be Chinese, but it's high quality.  Jul 22, 2010
This light is Chinese, yes, but if you do the research, there is a lot of emphasis put on the quality of these lights.

I have a "3x D-Cell 3-Watt LED MagLight" I picked up from my job, and this Fenix keeps up with it in
brightness. (However, not in length of run time) I think my Mag can pitch light further in ideal conditions but this
Fenix is now my primary.

The low power modes to conserve power are a must for outdoor enthusiasts, maintenance or repair.

The high power modes will benefit those in armed forces of any kind.

The SOS and strobe function will help survivalists when in a pinch.

Its extremely small form factor is incredible, it is way smaller than I had anticipated. It's only about a thick as the
diameter of a quarter at its thickest point (excluding the clip). And only 6 inches long, it won't take up much belt
space at all.

Controls on regulating the power output are a bit strange and take getting used to, but the manual clarifies
everything.

If you get this, you won't regret it.

4Great Light for a Great Price  Jul 20, 2010
This light is a great little power house. If you're looking for a rugged little light for backpacking / camping or even just a general all purpose light this is a great choice. I've submerged it under 3 meters of water for an hour, frozen it over night, dropped it from 5 feet on to concrete, and generally abused it to no end and it still works like a champ.

Given the ability to run off rechargable AA batteries, and the long run times under the lower lumen settings, this light is easy on the wallet yet versatile.

However, even though it is cut for what looks like a handheld defensive light (surfire grip), it is too narrow, and the button is too hard to press for that purpose. So if you're looking for a defensive light to carry to use with your pistol, keep looking. While this would make an okay backup light, its use is more so a general all purpose light.

A more in depth review is soon to be published at my website [...]

5Best Little Flashlight EVER!!!  Jul 12, 2010
This may be the single handiest tool you'll ever own. Everyone needs a flashlight like this. Its small, runs on 2 AA batteries and is brighter and a more uniform light than my 4 D Cell Maglight. This little power house puts it to shame. Just go buy one of these, I guarantee it will replace all of the other crappy flashlights I know you already own.

4Wish there was a 4 1/2 star rating option...  Jul 10, 2010
True story: Me, an engineer and a client were crouched in a crawlspace trying to figure out a pier layout using the engineer's ginormous, weak maglite. Of course I allowed the squinting to go on for a minute before I pulled the LD20 out of thin air (o.k., I had it in my pocket) and lit that sucker up! They all freaked. Purchase justified. ;)

The housing is tough, the light is super bright and my Eneloops function flawlessly (though I'm the kind of guy who changes them every few weeks whether they need to be changed or not).

The only con I can think of is that it doesn't have a super low "moon" type setting. It has a "low" but even that's plenty bright. Not much of a 'con' I suppose.

The pocket clip doesn't make a lot of sense to me either, but I can't bring myself to remove it.

All in all I would definitely recommend the LD20.

5A Surefire man, by trade, but very impressed.  Jul 01, 2010
Bought this for my brother as a birthday gift and a thank you for being in my wedding. I typically carry Surefire, and have always been happy. I read great reviews on various forums, and on here, and decided to chance it. It is everything people say it is. Very compact, bright and multple lighting features. Fenix has also capitalized on something that Surefire has truly failed at. That is maing bright comapct flashlights that dont run on exotic expensive batteries. This light runs on 2 AA Batteries. Very impressive.
