5Stabilizer for diesel & kerosene.  Feb 13, 2010
By M. Deszcz "Megger"
Got this just before winter to help preserve my supply of heating kerosene through the season. As it's too early to know it this stuff lives up to its claims, I may update this sometime around springtime, or later if I end up with kerosene left over. (According to the literature, it's supposed to keep diesel/fuel oil/kerosene in like-new condition indefinitely as long as it is re-treated every 6 mos, assuming proper storage conditions.) One good thing I will say about it right now is that a little DEFINITELY goes a long way. So one bottle will certainly treat most peoples' heating fuel for the entire season. Check this review again in a few months...
---
Follow-up--Spring 2011: As it turned out I ended up with about 20 gallons of kerosene leftover from the previous heating season. Per the manufacturer's directions, this was re-treated at the six month mark--last summer--then again this past December, and was used this season just ended.

The verdict? It works as advertised! The treated one year-old kerosene burned as well as fresh fuel. Wick fouling was no worse than any other kerosene used in my heaters. My only criticism is the dark red color of the stuff, which tints the fuel it's put into a very noticeable yellow. For kerosene that is already dyed this is no issue. For clear kerosene, however, this effect eliminates the ability to see deterioration--as degraded or contaminated kerosene often becomes yellow. But on balance, this product lived up to its claims, and I will be a repeat customer.

Great stuff for diesel that has or will be sitting for a long time. You pay a little bit more for this additive, but it works.
