Coleman stove review Jul 29, 2010 We love this stove. With this you don't need any other cooking equipment. If you need to grill, just put a grill pan on the burner. You can lay a griddle over the two burners if you need a large cooking surface. Got the attachment to hook it up to a 20lb propane tank, so no more little gas bottles.
great stove Jul 26, 2010 Used this stove 2 times now while camping in an RV. I had none of the wind issues others have spoken of and there was plenty of wind. I simply put a piece of cardboard (took me 3.5 seconds) on the windy side and nothing. This unit is extremely portable, easy to clean and lightweight. It is a snap to set up...we love it and with care we will be using it for many years to come.
Work great with large pot for cabin camping or tailgating. Jun 01, 2010 Get this Coleman Fold 'N Go InstaStart Stove (Model No. 5442AA50, MSRP $79.99) from Costco back in Summer 2007. I trust both brand names so go ahead to purchase it without doubt. I used it about 7 times and wants to share my thought.
Pro:
1) Compact size (25% smaller than regular 2 burner)
2) Further distance between burners
3) Large heat output (10K BTU each burner)
Con:
1) No windscreen
2) Grate is too high from burner
3) Fast use on fuel
This is a great stove for wok, or pot / pan with larger base. That's why most user doesn't like it with coffee pot. It output a lot of heat but these heat are used mostly to head air rather than the pot especially with smaller base.
I would rate it 5-star for people who camp with RV, Cabin, or tailgating since the wind could be minimized. If you like fuel efficiency then the Coleman PerfectFlow(tm) 1-Burner Stove (MSRP $29.99) would be great to cook meal for 2 people. If the temperature is lower than 55 degree then I suggest to use liquid fuel stoves (ex. Coleman Sportster® II Dual Fuel(tm) 1-Burner Stove (Model No. 3000000461 MSRP $69.99) for 2 ppl or Coleman Dual Fuel(tm) 2-Burner Stove (Model No. 3000000458, MSRP $97.49) for family). Its 4-star for family car camping and 1-star for backpacking.
Compact Space Saving Stove Mar 15, 2010 I bought this stove before a 3 week camping trip. I needed a small stove with 2 burners that would pack easily with my gear in a limited amount of space. The Fold 'n Go fit the bill perfectly. No problem adjusting the flames from blowtorch level to simmer. It DOES work much better if you get it out of strong winds. The stove is amazingly heavy duty and looks like it will last a long time.

Great Stove - if you have a lot of time to wait for coffee Mar 13, 2010 Great stove - if performance doesn't count but appearance and portability does. The stove performs well indoors, and it even does a good job outside when its warm and there is no breeze. However, on one camping trip the wind was blowing and even though I blocked the wind with crates and crate covers, it took about 45 minutes to boil 3 quarts of water. That was on a warm day. On one recent morning near Tucson, when air temperature was around 40 degrees and a light breeze chilled the air, it took about 30 minutes to bring my coffee water to a boil, not more than a 1 ½ quarts.
Considering that I could have boiled that water in under 10 minutes with my old Coleman white gas stove, I'm ditching this one.
