better crimper Jun 11, 2000
By Paige Carter As all Channellock tools are, these are very good quality. I like the fact that the crimping area is slightly wider than other crimpers making for, I believe, a stronger crimp.

Good tool! Apr 04, 2010
By Edward G. Hurlburt I am very happy with these crimpers! They are long and heavy but very gentle. I'm crimping mostly 10-18 gauge wire into insulated, heat-shrink terminals. I was surprised at how well they worked with even the 18 gauge terminals.
As an added bonus, they are MADE IN THE USA !! I'm happy to support an American company putting my neighbors to work producing an excellent product!

Great crimping tool, but... Jan 19, 2012

... I suggest you shop around first before ordering one from Amazon. I found these at Home Depot for $10, so surprisingly they are overpriced on this site. Other than that, not much to add. Great tool, with precise craftsmanship and affordable price. In terms of quality these aren't that far behind the German brands.
Update 03/02/2012: Have to bump up my rating to 5 stars. These last few weeks have mostly worked with thin wires (18-22 gauge) and my boss' Klein crimper would fail in this area by giving weak crimps (even though I'd fold the wire into 2 or 4), however this Channellock crimper succeeded every time!!! The crimp area itself actually looks a little weird, like its about to fall apart, but the crimp holds dead on. Very impressive!

Good and solid product, made in USA Aug 26, 2011
By E. Woo As all other Channellock tools that I have, this is a solid piece. The crimping and cutting edge were made with high degree of precision. The non-insolated crimping tooth looks well engineered. In comparison with the Klein J1005 model (Amazon seles for $28), the claws of this 909 is slightly wider and thicker than the J1005's. I guess this is to ensure the roubust work load, while the J1005 uses an extra shoulder on the outside of each claw to achieve the same. I believe that the J1005 might be slightly better engineered. Either one is way superior than those made in China or India. Enjoy it and be proud of "Made in USA".

Good tool Apr 17, 2009
By J. Hopfner Good quality tool. Does a nice job. Long handles give very good leverage. It's the only wire crimper for basic terminal crimping I use now, at home and work. I own 4 of these.
