eco fan Jul 22, 2010 We don't have an accurate opinion at this point in time. The summer heat has been quite stiffling. However, I would say the delivery time was excellent and the product is at least as attractive as pictured or more. It appears to have quality construction and we are looking forward to using it.
Great product Apr 26, 2010 Decided if I was going to get one of these I'd get the bigger one and glad I did. The unit is silent and really helps distribute the heat around the room.
Actually works Apr 03, 2010 I know this seems like a "something for nothing" perpetual motion deal, but the reality is that this little fan spreads the heat better across the whole room, while giving a visual indication about how hot the fire is. Good stuff, and worth the admittedly steep price.

Nice little addition Mar 15, 2010 We already have a ceiling fan above our wood stove but we were looking for a way to push air from the stove thru a cabin doorway and into the kitchen and bedroom. Although our cabin does have electric power, an electric fan wasn't a good option due to the layout of the living room. In other words, there wasn't an out-of-the-way spot to place a fan near the stove. The Ecofan AirPlus seemed like a good option. And good it is. What used to be about a 12-degree temperature difference between living room and bedroom is now about 5 degrees.
I've not had the same results as some who have complained that a raging inferno is required to initiate spinning. In fact, I regularly observe the blades spinning when I awake in the morning with only coals in the stove and a surface temp of less than 200 degrees. Go figure.
You will not dry hanging laundry with this fan. Nor do I recommend attaching it to the nose of your solar airplane project. You will barely feel the gentle breeze it produces. However, when properly set up (i.e. the backside right at the edge and facing away from the stove) I've found it to be an effective way to horizontally move warm air in a cabin. I'll be back to add a final star if it turns out to be a durable product.
