We purchased this pot primarily to make small batches of homemade soup. The photo and the written description was not what we received. We got a flat round pan that looked a casserole or maybe a braising pan but absolutely not a stock pot. It was sent back and no problems with the return but still have found no adequate stainless steel 4 quart stock pot. All we've found are sauce pans and casseroles in 4 quart size. Still on the look out at Amazon for something to fit our need.
The pan was made of very heavy duty high quality stainless steel with a tempered glass lid but it just was not the right shape. Would highly recommend though if you are looking for a stainless steel stovetop or oven casserole pan. We may have kept it and used it for a casserole pan but we already have a 5 quart J.A. Henckels for that purpose.
