Disappointed Nov 18, 2010
By Howard I thought these flares came in a package of 3. I order a quantity of 2 thinking I would get 6 flares. I only received 2 individual flares. I think the price of $5.50 per single flare is extremely high.

Misdirection Nov 28, 2010
By Joseph Nugent I also thought, based upon the picture of a 3 piece package, that I was getting 3 flares, not one, for $5. This is ridiculously high for any burn it up product....regardless of the fact that it's a safety item. I have bought similar flares before which had a nail on the bottom for $1.25 apiece, which is a little better than the price I thought I was paying for 3 of these items...not for 1! Don't buy these flares here at this price...because with shipping they are a complete rob! Go support your local auto supply store and buy them there.

BEWARE: Marketed as 3 Flares May 17, 2011
By DC Writers When we ordered this product, the picture clearly showed three flares in one package. We bought three packages of flares, assuming we would receive three flares in each package. What we received was three individual flares thrown into an empty box with NO PACKAGING and NO INVOICE. At $5.50 per flare, this is price gouging at the minimum.
Beware. The product description is misleading. No where in the description does it identify the product as a single flare. In fact, the plural is used, and the picture (which has since been changed) used to show a package with three flares.
Amazon should police this vendor more closely.

You only get 1 (one) Apr 05, 2011
By datrep I too thought this came in a pack of three. If I knew I would receive only one with my order, I would have purchased elsewhere.
Misleading ad.
Orion Safety Flare"S" please take the "s" out of the picture so consumers will know they are only buying one flare.

Functional Aug 29, 2010

I take thes flares out on my hikes/camps for emergency signal use, scaring off animals and if needed, aiding lighting fires. It will cater to these three needs sufficiently. I reccomend wrapping these up in plastic wrap and a bit of tape to increase how water proof they are (you can twist and tear of the top for quick access). When lit the flame is .75" approx wide and 3.5" approx long. and very bright. It will impare your vision for a few moments if you look directly at it up close, even in daylight. 15 minutes burn time approx. My only comlpain is the striking surface, contained within the plactic cap. Mine mostly stayed on but some chipped off without use on two of them, giving me less striking material for the tip of the flare. Still useable. 3 flares came with this purchase.
